Getting Ready for Robot Rumble!

It’s a busy time of year, we’ve got many new members joining, and we’re working hard to get everyone up to speed with last year’s game and robot because this weekend we’re off to Ballston Spa NY for Robot Rumble.
We’re coding…

And wiring…

And learning to drive

We worked hard to set up our pit structure

This shows our new members just how much space we’ll be working in this Saturday.

Our competition bot, “happy feet” needed a bit of TLC too.

We made some more spare parts…

And a few of us worked on human player skills.

Along with prepping for the competition, we continued our skills training. We did programming

We learned about circuits and wires with the electrical group

And the mechanical group learned all about motion, and continued to work on their design homework.

As a team, we need to spend time working on developing a goal for the year, and establishing our priorities is an important part of that. We “built our house” in small groups, writing words on slips of paper. The bigger the paper, the more important the word was to each group.

When we shared the houses it was amazing how similar some priorities were.

We’re glad to continue our traditions, passing them on to more and more members of our purple family.
