Today we made great progress with our bumpers. We cut the fabric, and set up a sewing machine with upholstery thread and stitched them together.
The first step to making reversible bumpers is to sew the red and blue fabric together.
The pieces are turned so the seam is to the inside, and the flap is sewn, 5.5 in from the seam.
Measuring is key!
We marked, cut and sewed the pockets at the ends of each bumper.
We experimented with zigzag stitching to keep everything in place.
Elsewhere we were busy greasing gearboxes…
Working on our electrical board
Figuring out the best way to mount the bumpers to the robot…
….making sure we have all the field pieces ready to construct at the warehouse…
…and manufacturing too. After each new piece is made, we need to debur it so it is smooth.
Of course we were treated yet again to a marvellous meal.
