This morning we started off with a meeting to discuss design decisions. We are directing our energies towards prototyping ways to pick up the ball now.
We did some work on our chassis, and wheels
Programmers worked hard on learning new skills. Many experienced K-Bots have been helping others learn.
We have to keep passing knowledge to our rookies!
We had an amazing lunch today!
Thanks again parents!
Our custodians joined us for lunch today. They are an important part of keeping our team going…they’ve got to be at the school whenever we are!
Part of the goals for the week include building a mock up of the field for testing purposes. We took our list to the hardware store to pick up the necessary supplies.
We learned the difference between nails and screws….and also picked out some good boards.
Many hands make light work! We loaded the wood into our workshop so we’ll be ready to start measuring and cutting on Monday.
It’s time to start thinking about bumpers! We did an inventory of supplies and made a shopping list.
Thankfully we have enough pool noodles. They’re always hard to get in January!
Our sponsorship group had a meeting today to discuss the plans…
We’re using a template to fill in our sponsor contacts, so we can stay organized.
We took time during the day to keep tabs on the FLL Provincial tournament. One of the teams mentored by K-Bots is there representing the Kingston area. Good luck girls from Team High Tech!
Our manufacturing capabilities are increasing year to year. We are now making use of our 3D printer and CNC mill to make parts for robots and prototypes.
This is a custom spacer we designed this week.
Our newest K-Bot in training got to work with his sister to create a custom LEGO block.
He impressed many by his creation.
Here he is with his robot design ideas.
It’s never too early to learn how to document ideas!
We’re glad to see our K-Bots in training picking up some good skills while they visit us.
