Today is the first day of the Frontenac Lennox and Addington Science Fair! It is being held in the gym at Queen’s University’s West Campus (Union St. and Sir John A MacDonald Blvd.). It will be open to the public Wednesday from 10AM-noon–Go check it out!K-Bots volunteered to help out for the two day event. There were many different jobs to do! Many of us gave out buttons and sat at the information desk. Others got to give out T-Shirts.The best part about being at the science fair is getting to interact with lots of young scientists. This project is by KCVI students (and K-Bots) all about insulin pumps. Here’s a project by Odessa Public School students that found that 12 year old girls and boys have different reflexes when it came to catching rulers. Here’s one by Calvin Park Public School students about how to best refrigerate produce using moist sand and clay pots. Here’s a startling display of a Happy Meal that was purchased February 5th 2013. It is not decomposing. It is part of a project by a student from First Avenue Public School.
There are many more projects to see and experience! We are looking forward to being involved again next year.
