Departure for the Finger Lakes Regional

This morning school buses were cancelled due to freezing rain.  Our trip however was not affected, as rain was forecast all the way to Rochester.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe gathered together in the morning to watch the Chairman’s video….OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA …and then we finished packing up last minute items, like the robot…OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA…the batteries….OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA…and other important things like hats and deodorant.

We are bringing the blue bear with us to cheer us on.  Any guesses who is wearing it first?OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We had some special visitors come with us.  We’re happy to welcome back a K-Bot alumna all the way from Halifax!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe bus arrived around 11AM, and we loaded all of our tools, and robot and personal gear onto the bus.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIt’s less than 3.5 hours to Rochester, but with weather and border crossings, we are leaving with PLENTY of time.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

…which happened to be a good thing.  Before hitting the highway it was discovered that our first bus had some issues, so we changed to a new bus in the Transformix parking lot.bus issues

Edit 6:00PM.  K-Bots are now safe and sound in Rochester.  It took a long time to cross the border today!  Dinner at a diner attached to a bowling alley tonight!
