Our 6th newsletter is out now! Download it for yourself to see some pictures of competition.Today we reviewed orthographic drawing techniques to prepare for our CAD workshop later in the evening with the Cyberfalcons, team 3710. With all of our practice we’re getting much better at drawing 3 views.
We’ve had a bit of fun interpreting the drawings and putting LEGO together to construct the objects.
Once we got our screen set up, we were ready to run a tutorial on Inventor
We focused today on how to use the software. We created a 2D drawing and then extruded it to make it 3D.
It was good to get everyone up to speed with some of the commands. We’ll do a follow up session next Tuesday at KCVI from 5:30-7:00.
Homework: In groups, divide up the parts of a joystick. Each member will CAD a part, and then we will assemble them together on Tuesday.
Thanks to our mentors, and the mentors for the Cyberfalcons, for arranging such productive pre-season training. Everyone is learning a lot!
