Days are running into each other, and every minute seems consumed with robot. Some of our mentors and programming team were working late hours this weekend making sure that the robot is ready to go.
Recently we spent some time reading last minute rules…
which led to last minute re-wiring of our electrical box….
Bumpers had the final velcro attached, and are now being fit on the robot. Team work in evidence here as we change bumpers from red to blue with the greatest of ease.
We had a visit today by the W.A.F.F.L.E.S. and mini W.A.F.F.L.E.S. one of the local FIRST Lego League Teams. We are so happy to have such a strong connection to the W.A.F.F.L.E.S. They cheer us on, and we cheer them on at their events. We even got a Valentine’s card from them this year–Thanks W.A.F.F.L.E.S!!
We have learned a great deal about teamwork and organization from them, and at competitions we have admired their spirit and cheering.
We have two of their team members on our team, and hopefully we have inspired some of the younger ones to join a FRC team when they get older.
It is currently after 9:00PM, and the lab is still full of students and mentors and some parent and teacher volunteers. We are working late tonight, getting as much done as we can. Tomorrow is the last day of build season, and the robot gets put in a bag at midnight.
In the mean time….siblings are working together…
…mentors are excited about joysticks…
…and math homework is getting done
