Bumpers

Today’s the day that we’re making bumpers!

Pool noodles were all cut to the specified lengths.  We tried to use glue guns to stick them together, and quickly learned that hot glue melts pool noodles.

The bumpers have to change colour, from blue to red, quickly.  We were debating how to negotiate the quick change–velcro, snaps, elastics, stretchy fabric….we believe that we have a solution.

We prototyped our idea using chart paper in place of fabric.  Next comes the making of a pattern, and a road trip to a fabric store to buy red and blue material followed by a weekend full of sewing heavy canvas/teflon

Here’s the understatement of the year:

“I don’t mind a bit of hand sewing–I’ll have to bring my embroidery hoop!”–Opti (Queen’s university mentor)

What do we do with all the extra pool noodle pieces??

Here’s John hard at work on the Chairman’s Report.  This time in the season, we’re all getting a bit silly.
