K-Botics, FIRST Team 2809, Hat Pin

Materials: sport weight yarn in purple, blue, white and black (any combination)
Needles: 4mm or 5mm needles. (different needles will result in a hat of a slightly different size, but that’s ok.)
Cast on 10 sts.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Continue until hat is 3 inches long. Use various stitch patterns and colours.
Decreasing:
K2tog, K6, K2tog (8 sts)
P2tog, P4, P2tog (6 sts)
K2tog, K2, K2tog (4 sts)
P2tog, P2tog (2 sts)
Break yarn leaving a tail. Draw end through remaining stitches.
With fabric glue, attach a small ribbon with 2809 written on it, and then a small pompom (bought at any craft store)
Attach a safety pin to the back of the hat.
